Top 5

Ok, so I am working on my Year in Review for ya all but this will have to hold you off until then. As you all know, my hubs and I love music; even more if its music at a live show, so I have gathered my TOP 5 live show songs. Not entire concerts, just those sweet and tasty performances that I play over and over again in my head. These are in no particular order.

1. Black Rain
2. Spittin' Venom
3. Knocked Up
4. California All The Way
5. Mountain Song

Now let me tell about these songs;

Black Rain by Ben Harper at Starlight theatre in Kansas City. Best part of the show because it was POURING rain the whole time. Ben gave us mid-westerners props by saying we put both coasts to shame with our loyalty in such crappy weather.

Spittin' Venom by Modest Mouse at the City Market in Kansas City. We were about to leave the show because it was 150 degrees out, and so humid and we had been standing for what seemed like hours. It was so hot out I didn't even want to drink beer for fear of immediate dehydration. My feet hurt, it was hot, and we were heading out the gate, and then they started playing this song. Wild horses couldn't have dragged us away after that, the performance was so incredible.

Knocked Up by Kings of Leon at the Pageant in St. Louis. This is by far not my favorite KOL song, its actually one of my least favorites, but when they played this live on Nov 2, 2008, it was freakin' amazing. It went on forever! And Caleb, the lead singer, was in awe of the crowd during this one, which is pretty hot.

California All the Way by Luna at the Bottleneck in Lawrence. This is my all time favorite Luna song and they opened with it at the one and only time I've seen them. At the end of this show I actually got to talk to Dean, the lead singer, it was pretty sweet.

Mountain Song by Jane's Addiction at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City. I am short. So when we go to a show, I rarely see the drummer. (Murphy obviously does not have this problem) The issue here, is that my favorite part of Jane's Addiction is the drummer, Stephen Perkins. So during this song, I went all the way to the back of the club and sat on the mechanical bull just so I could see Stephen.

I'm Back!!!!

This post sucks but I couldn't stand seeing Oct 21st on my page, that seems like a lifetime ago!

I am without a personal computer so these post will be sparse. My next post will be much better, I promise!

Peace Out my blogging friends, I miss you!
