"Mushy Peach Pie Crust"

The title may be confusing for some, so let me explain. A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away called Prairie Village, someone gave me the nickname Mush. There are still a few who refer to me solely as Mush (Ahem, Sarah's parents). In fact, I don't think Mr. Thompson has ever once called me Marri. Now that I think about it, he must be the someone who bestowed this great nom de plume upon my little self.
So there's the 'mushy' part.
And if you have ever spent any time at all around me when I am with Ashley, then you know I call her my little peach pie crust. It just came out one day when I was saying good morning to her, made her mom laugh so hard she almost peed. Little peach just wasn't enough for her cuteness and pies aren't really that cute, so apparently my subconscious thinks that the crust of pie is the cutest part. So now Ashley will forever be my little peach pie crust. In the same way that she will always be 'the bean' to Murph.
So there's the 'peach pie crust' part.

Now here's the reason for the title:

I can't believe we aren't related!!

Oh, The Tomfoolery...

We went to dinner with Sarah and Christian on St. Pat's Day. It was a beautiful 83 degrees out so a perfect night to walk around Waldo. There were about a billion people out; there are quite a few Irish bars in Waldo.

Ya gotta love Sarah's shirt.

On the way to dinner we met Tank...

...and then we got tanked. We ate at one of our favorite places, Waldo Pizza, which was surprisingly uncrowded. Still our food took an oddly long time to arrive, awarding us more time to drink.

It was really nice that we live so close and were able to walk instead of drive, giving us a bit more room for beer. After all it is St. Patrick's Day.

Just so you know, Murph got his beads from a smelly homeless dude who rides my bus sometimes. Awesome.

Happy St. Patty's Day

It is absolutely amazing in Kansas City today, and the boys are loving it. I'm sure the drunkards are too, let me just say how nice it is to NOT be behind a bar today. That is where you would usually find me, serving green beer to all in Brookside. This year I might actually drink one myself.

"Cash - Pack"

Ok so, if you have ever met our little Cashious Maximus, then you know he is just one gigantic muscle. Which means on a walk, he's a puller. No matter how long of a walk we take him on, it just never seems to wear him out. Murphy built him a sled to pull in the yard, he looked at us like a teenager might, "Uh, yeah right."

A backpack was more urgently needed than originally expected. After some trial and error with a bit too much weight, we have found the perfect amount to keep Cash from dragging us down the street. Murphy and I haven't had to threaten to "beat you in public" once since the purchase. Cash loves his new pack, it's green, how could he not?

Stopping the pulling wasn't the only reason for the new digs, we are planning a camping trip to the four corners at the end of the summer and Cash will need to be able to carry his own stuff:)

How cute is this picture of Cash and Mama J?

B Ball

Last Friday, I went to Ashley's basketball game. This is the second game I have been to and already I can see her skills improving. It's crazy to watch her learn something and get better at it. She is no longer afraid of shooting the ball, and she is by far the best defender on her team!! I believe her team is undefeated (Sarah, verify), the first game I went to went into overtime and resulted in a victory; the most intense basketball game I have ever watched. During this last one, they stomped the competition with a 32 over 11 win!

This shot is so blurry but still one of my favorites. (click on it, its better that way)

Love this one of her getting some 'air'

She usually stops making eye contact with me half way through the game due to embarrassment from all the photo taking. I really drive her nuts with all the pictures!

After the game, we went back to Ashley's and had a slumber party. We stayed up way past her bedtime and watched the new Indiana Jones movie. We spent most of the next day together too, starting with breakfast; check out the crazy hair! We were snowed in for most of the day, playing War & Go Fish. A great Saturday with one of my favorites!
