YIR cont.

Feb. 2008
Fairly uneventful month for the Glannons. With school in swing, and a literature class in tow, I find myself writing a heck of a lot. Lots of journal entries and letters; some a bit longer than what the recipient hoped for ;). Murphy and myself start looking at rescue dogs online. I want a Boston Terrier. Murphy is thinking of something a bit larger.

March 2008
More blog posts this month than ever before!! I even started a movie blog; which I grew to hate and have since deleted it. On the 13th of this month, Murphy and I celebrated 6 months of marriage by eating 1 of our 2 wedding cake toppers. Ok, Murphy didn't eat any, but I did...will never pass up cake. The 1st flowers of the year sprang up in our side yard; this is always exciting for me, don't get me wrong I like the winter, but I am ready for it to be over come March. Kansas City opened up a new downtown; WOW!! I cannot believe it hasn't even been a year since KC Power & Light opened their new district. Brookside and Waldo will never be the same since the opening of this new hot spot! 3 of my lovelys had Bdays; Mel, Jess, and Murphy!! On a sad note, Chia, Jan's cat, passed away (sadness).

April 2008
The weather in Kansas City is absolutely amazing this month! Sunny days one after another--Love it! Murphy started working for an independent landscaping company this month, and really enjoys it. That enjoyment will taper off once we reach August accompanied by 100 degree heat and 90% humidity.

May 2008
Bitter sweet month for me. Started out great. I flew to Cali to see the Katesters graduate from Westmont. This was an awesome time for me and my seester; I got to meet all the peeps I'd been hearing about for the last four years. Those Westmont folks are pretty sweet and Kate was in great hands for sure!! We took several late night walks around campus, went to a really fun BBQ (Cali style - I saw no BBQ as a Midwesterner might expect), and took only about 1million pictures of the Grad herself. My brosef deployed overseas again, but to a quieter place. I ran my 1st (&only) race; and I loved doing it....yeah, so much I haven't done it again since HA! LOST season 4 ended, not to return until....(awe snaps, last night). And the worst part of my year happened this month. My friend, Meghan Lampo, a best friend since high school, died tragically in a car crash. It was horrible and I still have trouble dealing with the fact that she is gone and I will never ever get to tell her goodbye. (heavy sigh) Meghan is a big part of why I am the person I am; her love and unconditional friendship will inspire me always.

June 2008
More blooms!! Tomatoes and lilies are abundant and beautiful, though the tomatoes don't last long with the squirrels taking more than their share. We paid off Murph's truck this month -- Very Exciting!

July 2008
Started out the month by heading to Colorado with two of my favorites; Kate & Jess. My gals swing into Kc to pick up on the way back from spending some really fun times with the Price Fam in central MO. Jess and Kate worked during most days since they had just returned from vacation. We had really great coffee mornings and wine evenings though :) The ladies introduced me to MadGreens; a salad place that I am absolutely in love with and wishing for one in KC. Flew home to find my husband had fallen in love with a Stafford shire Terrier named Champ. After a few in-home visits, we adopt him and change his name to Cash!!! We spent the 4th of July the the North home, this is a lot of fun, and kinda scary at times too. On the 5th of this month, Ashley turned 8. OMG, Ashley is 8, WTF mate?

Year In Review 2008

Ok peeps, I am going to do this year in review thing 1 month at a time. I have limited computer access and I think it will work best for me. Sorry to drag it out but I know ya all love me still :)

January 2008

We spend most of this month literally coming down from out trip to Colorado to hang with the Apostles over Christmas. A blast to be with family, can't believe that was over a year ago!! Spring semester starts with me on TV for a class and Murphy tackling his math classes head on - two 8 week, expedited courses back to back of numbers - my hubs is a brave soul. I'm on a TV set for my women's lit course, this causes random people to come up to me and tell me they have seen me on TV. AWKWARD!! Also, Murphy and I entertain the idea of getting a dog. Already this January has proved more exciting (maybe not the best word for what this month has been)then the past year, but that's another post, a way other time--I've got 11 more months of last year to do!
