Race for the Cure

Us Gaf & Cantina ladies did our part by walking a 5K on Sunday. It was amazing how many people participated, 25,000 runners and walkers!!

The race route took us through Power & Light and Crossroads area. A little tough to take pictures while walking but I did my best. Here are some of the pics!!!

My bib, which I forgot at home and had to drive all the way back for. Please note that my name, address and age are all incorrect.

It was easy to lose your team members with all the people around, Christie is looking back to keep track of me as I stop to shoot.

Would have been a great shot but this lady had to steal the frame!!

Kate and Katie doing a little stretching.

Darci and Jess looking way too cool to be up this early.

A nice shot of the Western Auto building.

Love this one of Jess.

Molly, the one who convinced us to get up at 5am on a Sunday.

Local bands were scattered along the race route whose aim was to motivate but the guy doing the Michael Jackson impression only filled us with fear :) Unfortunately did not get his picture

My favorite picture of the day; Christie and Katie in front of the Sprint Center.

Mom and daughter together for this great cause.

Darci and Jess continually pulled ahead and much to their chagrin wound up in almost all of the 55 pictures I took.

Thousands of participants wore these pink bibs, pretty cool.

The new Arts and Ballet center still under construction.

Look at all these people!!

No, seriously; Look at all these people!! Pretty awesome.

Team Quinn after the race. Christie, Darci, Jessica, Me, Katie, Molly, Michaela, Kate, Amy & family. Thanks to Quinn Plastic Surgery for sponsoring us, and thanks to Christie and Molly for getting it all organized.

Things not caught on camera....

-- One way streets the wrong way....almost twice.
-- Sitting in the rust spot
-- Jumping into traffic to avoid a bee
-- "I forgot I was driving for a second."

I love your post. You don't do it for other people, you do it for you!!! Sounds familiar? It's been a couple of years since I did Race for a Cure, but I remember how inspiring it is to see all of those pink bibs.

Those are great photos - you should send some of them to the Susan G Komen people.
