Year in Review

Ok, Apostle girls, sorry for the delay. Here is my year in review:

January through May I was in school and most of it is a blur. Speech class was mortifying, learned how to identify every rock and mineral on the planet, and I wrote my first 15 page paper. My brother came home from Iraq and our family got to visit with him and his wife on their way out to their new home.

March was a busy month, my seester Kate came in town to attend a wedding and she stayed with us in Waldo. Kate got her first tattoo while in town! Taking her back to the airport one morning was the last trip Gloria (my geo) ever took, she died on the way home...on the highway...while it was pouring rain...oh yeah and I didn't have my cell phone. Good Times! Also in March; Murphy scouted ceremony sites in Sedona while I went and visited the Apostle's new home in FoCo.

March to September was full of wedding stuff, even blurrier. Dresses and table-cloths and guests and invitations and DRAMA! Why would anyone want to do this twice?
August brought my birthday and my wedding shower...both very fun times. Both very intoxicated times!

September....ummm...let's see, something big happened in September....what was it? Murphy and I, after eight years, got married in Sedona surrounded by the people we love most in our lives. We spent our honeymoon traversing the state of Arizona, and we spent some much needed time with our best buds, Pete and Mel. Awe, I misses you guys :(

A couple weeks after the ceremony, we held our reception at the beautiful home of Jan Glannon (my new mom) in Kansas City. I have to be honest, the whole thing stressed me out so much that I spent the hours leading up to the party on the couch with my seester rubbing my head. I don't remember much, but I remember Kate leaving, I cried really hard! Thanks to everybody who pulled that party off...MURPHY!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh I should marry him....wait oh yeah, not doing it twice.
Super late that night Pete, Mel, Nick and myself all convinced Murphy to run over to the party site and grab as many presents and beer as we could carry. This makes more sense if you know that we live two houses away from the party site. Just picture four elf-like characters scurrying across the lawn, arms full of presents and beer at 3 o'clock in the morning, while a tall red head is yelling from the porch "COME ON GUYS!" If you are not laughing, you should be, it was a riot.

October came and I started it by road tripping with my sister Jess and her pups, Sarge out to FoCo. Dudes, we did not turn on the radio until the Colorado border, I'm sure the husbands are glad they missed that trip, their ears might have bled! I got to eat crab legs with my brother, got a little hiking in, and then I flew back to KC and my new husband.

November and December we worked our butts off to pay for that little get-together we had in September. We ended the year with a trip out to FoCo to spend Christmas with my family. Kate got her second tattoo, Jess got her first tattoo, and I got my sixth, 'A' tribute to our sisterhood! Thank you so much Mike and Jess for having the whole fam out, you guys are the best!

On New Years's eve, I worked until about 9, and then had a couple drinks and was out before mid-night.
The busiest year of my life (so far...grad school is coming) and I am looking forward to a much more relaxed, drama-free 2008! Love you all!

(I had pictures to go with all of this and thanks to blogger you will never see them argh!)

What a great post! I laughed outloud more than once. I was so glad to see a shout out to our October trip, which I mistakenly left out of my big review!! That was one of my best roadtrips ever. Seriously, I can't believe we did not turn the radio on for eight straight hours. Not many people exist that I could talk to for eight straight hours, but you are among the few Marri G. That was a great time.

Love you seester. Looking forward to a great '08 with you. Lots of memories to be made!

AWESOME! I loved reliving every moment of it! I can't believe how many times we shared special moments this past year.

and I can TOTALLY imagine you "elves" running between houses. HA!
